Friday Night Challenge

Friday night we had Scrapbook Night at my Friend Jeanette's house. Whenever we get together we always do a challenge. Three Rules. Everybody writes down three rules and we put them in a paint can draw each others rules. We also have a time limit of 30-45 minutes. My three rules were:

1.) you must use letter stamps

2.) you cannot use your favorite color

3.) you must use ribbon on your layout

I completed my layout in about 15 minutes (thus the simpleness! (is that a word?) then I helped some other friends with theirs. This works good for me. I never seem to get anything done at crops except chatting:)

Poker Bug

  Seems that the Poker bug has bitten us. We started playing in January. It started as a fellowship kind of thing. A good combo....friends, dinner, dessert and poker.  We play twice a month. There are three of us couples that are the core group and then we always invite another couple or two. It has really been a great time! Seems like everywhere I go people are talking about or playing poker:) What about you?

Dallas, Here we come!

We are making a trip to Dallas on Friday. Rob found out last week that he needed to go to Dallas for training. Since it is a holiday weekend we decided to leave early and go exploring. Both the kids love traveling and they are used to it. Besides I can watch my kids at the Wyndham Suites just as easy as I can at home:) Except someone else will be making us breakfast, lunch and dinner for 10 days:) The really great part is my sweet college friend and her family live in Dallas and both of our kids are close in age. It will be so much fun! And she scrapbooks! And she is taking me to all the LSS! When I went to Dallas in March for CKU Albums...I went to Recollections and Oh-My Goodness! Rob is really disappointed that the Cowboys aren't in town! He has been a fan since he was a kid. I'll keep you updated on our happenings once we are there. Isn't blogging a great thing?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!

Isn't he cute? He is the Birthday Boy today! This is a layout I did about him a couple of months ago. The first page reads "You are the reason" and the second page says "Life is so sweet." The journaling underneath reads:

If someone were to ask me what is so special about your life? What makes you happy? I wouldn't even need to hesitate. The answer is so simple, but yet so hard to put into words. His name is Rob. He is my husband and the father to my children. I often wonder how did I get so lucky? What did I do to deserve this man? Sometimes I stop in my tracks and think how blessed I am. How can after ten years my heart skip a beat when he walks in the room? By just a glimpse, how does he know what my heart is feeling? How does he know to glance over and smile his playful smile just at the moment I need it most? Over time, I've realized that this kind of love only comes around once in a lifetime, and I'm so glad I waited for it. He is mine, and he is the reason that life is so sweet...

Creativity Stuffs...

This is a couple more projects we did at the Jenni Bowlin Creativity Workshop. Love, love, love the restaurant holder. Haven't had time to pop in a photo on the left side yet. Too cute. The other item is an open frame that you can insert artwork into. Thinking about putting it in my scrap area on a shelf and putting in Christian or Allie's artwork.

The Fair

Wow! It's been a while since I posted. It's been busy around here.  It has been super duper hot here. Over 100 degrees. Makes for lots of indoor activities!

Since last summer our friends have wanted to take us to the Wilson County Fair. They love the fair and all that goes with it. Apparently The Wilson County Fair is the best. Matter of fact it wasn't just our friends who raved about it, but I also heard the girls at Scrap It! mention how great it was. We went this weekend and had a blast. Nothing like taco in a bag, corn dogs, cotton candy, granny's sweet tea, and funnel cakes:) (oh and don't forget about all the games daddy had to play for *Christian and Allie* wink* wink* Christian and Allie loved all the kiddie rides....they weren't afraid of any of them! EEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee! Here is proof!

Random happy things:)

Wow! Loving my new sewing machine:) Can you tell? I sewed all over this baby. Matter of fact I kept looking at it wondering if I could sew anywhere else. I know you've seen the pictures but I wanted to show the sewing....see MIL....I did it! Yeah! Christian informed me he had a hole in his sock and I needed to sew it. I thought it was common knowledge that this was for scrapbooking:)

It is nice and quiet here right now, hubby is golfing, both kids are in bathed and in bed. No tv. No music. Just the noise of my fingers on my keyboard.  and guess what? I had dinner swap tonight! Yep. No cooking for me. Which me means no cleaning up either. Guess what I have tomorrow night? Yep. Dinner swap. Which means no cooking and no cleaning up! Wonderful neighborhood friends are a beautiful thing!

Want to know what else? I had a paraffin hand therapy treatment yesterday.  Want to know where? At my new dentist office. Rob and I have been searching for a dentist that would fit us. When I went to the Creativity Workshop I met a most awesome gal:) Her name is Cathleen and she is an oral surgeon in town. What are the chances that I sit with Cathleen and we are the only two in Jenni's workshop from Franklin. That was a very cool thing. She recommended a dentist for Rob and I to try. Wow! She was right on. Rob went first and called me and said..."you are going to like it!" Yep, one step in and I knew I would like. Looks like a model house. Beautiful decor, amazing smells throughout, ummmm and did I mention a paraffin hand treatment? Doesn't look anything like a dentist office. Which is perfectly fine with me! So there you have it. A cool, hip, state of the art dentistry. oh- the things the make me happy.

The Heart of an almost 4 year old.

Here is the most precious conversation I had with Christian this afternoon:)

"Mommy, I'm watching over God and Jesus". I said, "Baby, God and Jesus watch over us." He said, "No mommy, I'm watching over Jesus, that way he doesn't have to die on the cross anymore."

Christian and Country Music "Country"

Yes. We live in Country Music and Christian Music "COUNTRY".  When we first moved here three years ago I saw Faith Hill at Kroger with her three little girls. Barbara Mandrell was at a church we visited. Then we saw Alan Jackson and his wife eating lunch at Jason's Deli (his wife even goes to the the salon where I get my hair done:) Have played poker with Lee Greenwood. Then on Sunday when we were going for a drive, I looked over at the Shell Gas Station, and there was Ronnie Dunn (the guy on the left for you non-country lovers) filling up his Porshe with gas. Our good friend is the founder/owner of Audio Adrenaline. Saw Toby Mac at the mall eating in the food court. Have seen Mercy Me (at the mall, too). Rob met Michael W. Smith at our Bank of America. Want to come visit?
